Where Beavers Live
Beavers live near ponds, rivers, and streams in North America and Europe. They need water nearby because they are strong swimmers and build homes called lodges.

How Beavers Build
Beavers use sticks, mud, and rocks to build dams. A dam slows the water and creates a deeper pond where the beavers feel safer from predators.
