The Talent Show Jitters
Backstage at the Fall Talent Show in the school gym, Leah practiced her violin piece one more time. Her hands were shaking, and she worried she might forget the notes in front of the whole school.
Her music teacher, Mr. Alvarez, knelt beside her and reminded her to take a deep breath and focus on one note at a time. He told her that mistakes were okay as long as she kept going.
When Leah's name was called, she walked on stage and played her song from start to finish. The audience clapped loudly, and Leah realized she had been more ready than she thought.
