1 Nonfiction Passage

How Wind Makes Energy
Wind turbines turn moving air into electricity. Their large blades spin when the wind pushes against them. That spinning motion powers a generator inside the turbine.
Wind energy is renewable because wind keeps moving naturally. Unlike fossil fuels, wind does not run out when it is used. Wind farms can provide electricity to many homes and buildings.
Turbines must be placed in areas with reliable wind. Engineers also study how turbines affect birds, land use, and nearby communities. Careful planning helps wind energy work well.
