1 First Person vs. Third Person
👁️ Stories can be told from different points of view. Learn the difference!

First Person (I, me, my): The character tells their own story. "I went to the park."

Third Person (he, she, they): A narrator tells the story about someone else. "She went to the park."

2 Same Story, Different Views
📖 Read the same event told from two different points of view.
Version A (First Person):
I was nervous walking into the science fair with my volcano project. Judges walked from table to table, asking questions I hadn't expected. When they reached me, I explained my experiment slowly, and to my surprise, they smiled and nodded.
Version B (Third Person):

4 Change the Point of View
✍️ Rewrite this third-person passage in FIRST person (use "I" and "my").
Third Person: Eli noticed his neighbor struggling to carry grocery bags up the icy driveway. He ran over and grabbed two of the heaviest bags without being asked.
