1 Dialogue Rules
๐Ÿ’ฌ Dialogue is when characters talk. Learn the rules!

Rule 1: Put quotation marks " " around the exact words someone says.

Rule 2: Start the spoken words with a capital letter.

Rule 3: Put punctuation (. ! ?) INSIDE the quotation marks.

Rule 4: Tell who is speaking (said, asked, yelled, whispered).

Is the dialogue written correctly? Write โœ“ or โœ—.

3 Speaking Verbs
๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Instead of always using "said," try more interesting speaking verbs! Replace "said" with a better word.

4 Write a Conversation
