1 What Are Sources?
📚 A source is where you find information. Different sources are good for different things.

📖 Book · 📰 Magazine/Newspaper · 🌐 Website · 👩‍🏫 Expert/Interview · 📕 Encyclopedia

Books and encyclopedias give reliable, detailed facts. Newspapers cover current events. Websites are quick but need checking. Experts share real firsthand knowledge.

Which source would you use? Write your answer.

2 Read Two Sources
📖 Read these two source texts about the human heart. Look for information in each one.
Source 1: Encyclopedia Entry
The human heart is a muscular organ about the size of a fist that pumps blood throughout the body every second of every day. It has four chambers and beats around 100,000 times a day, sending blood on a nonstop journey through the body. The heart is part of the circulatory system, which carries oxygen and nutrients to every cell while removing waste. A healthy diet and regular exercise help keep the heart strong, lowering the risk of problems later in life.
Source 2: Interview with Cardiologist Dr. Wendy Park
"Over two decades of treating heart patients has shown me how resilient the human heart can be. One case I'll never forget involved a patient who fully recovered after major surgery within just a few months. Daily habits, more than most people assume, play a huge role in long-term heart health. That's exactly why I believe teaching kids about heart health early can prevent serious problems down the road."
