2 Read Two Sources
๐Ÿ“– Read these two source texts about honeybees. Look for information in each one.
Source 1: Encyclopedia Entry
Honeybees are insects that live in large groups called colonies. A colony can have up to 60,000 bees. Each colony has one queen bee, many worker bees, and some drone bees. Worker bees collect nectar from flowers to make honey. Honeybees are found on every continent except Antarctica.
Source 2: Interview with Beekeeper Maria Santos
"I have been keeping bees for 15 years. My biggest hive has about 50,000 bees in it. What most people don't know is that bees communicate by dancing! When a bee finds flowers, it does a special 'waggle dance' to show other bees where to go. I think bees are the most fascinating creatures on Earth."
