Maya was excited for recess because her class had planned a kickball game. Just before lunch, dark clouds rolled in and rain tapped against the classroom windows. Everyone groaned. Their teacher, Mr. Lopez, smiled and said they could still have a team challenge inside. He gave each group cups, paper, and tape. The class worked together to build towers. Maya's team listened to each idea and made the tallest tower in the room. At the end of recess, Maya said the rainy-day challenge was just as fun as kickball.
