📖 How-to writing teaches someone how to do something step by step. Read this example.

How to Make a Paper Boat

Materials: a sheet of paper

Step 1: Fold the paper in half sideways, then unfold to make a crease.
Step 2: Fold the top corners down to the center crease to make a triangle shape.
Step 3: Fold the bottom edges up on both sides to make a small hat shape.
Step 4: Open the shape gently and flatten it into a square.
Step 5: Pull the two bottom points apart carefully to open the boat.

Now your paper boat is ready to float in a sink, tub, or puddle!
