1 What is Division?
➗ Division means splitting things into equal groups.

12 ÷ 3 = 4 means: 12 split into 3 equal groups = 4 in each group

Division is the opposite of multiplication: If 4 × 3 = 12, then 12 ÷ 3 = 4
